Beyond the familiar story of the snake-haired monster slain by Perseus is Medusa the Protector, a powerful figure whose terrifying gaze was believed to ward off evil and guard sacred spaces. We’ll explore Medusa’s origins, the power of her gaze, her role as an ancient guardian, and why her image appeared on temples, shields, and sacred objects throughout the Greek world.
